Congratulations! We made it through 2009.

Wow, what a year - war, bad economy, unemployment and to top it all off - the “balloon boy” fooled us. One thing is for sure, as we go into 2010 people are really looking for hope. The issue of hope is discussed many places in the Bible. In Romans 5:2-5 St. Paul writes: “We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”

There will be many things happening in the new year over which we have no control. We have a choice, however, in how we meet each new day. If we give God control of our lives, the Bible says God will “direct our steps and make them sure.”

As we enter the year 2010, I give thanks that God has led Jo and me to Family of Faith. I pray your hearts will be filled with hope as we walk together into the future.
